Ownership and Project
Mon Trésor is wholly owned by Mon Trésor and Mon Désert Ltd (MTMD).
Incorporated in 1926, MTMD is a public-listed company – one of the first five companies to be admitted to the Official List of the Stock Exchange of Mauritius at the latter’s inception in 1989.
Traditionally engaged in the cultivation of sugar-cane and the production of sugar, the company is today a frontline force in the necessary transformation and realignment of the Mauritius sugar industry, with a major role in such sectors as electricity production for the national grid, and real-estate development.
MTMD’s vision is to create at Mon Trésor, under Mauritius’s Integrated Resorts Scheme (IRS) and in harmony with the property’s unique heritage and character, a luxury residential, tourism and leisure complex offering the world’s élite a living environment of unprecedented quality.
Existing plans foresee, inter alia:
- A boutique hotel
- A beach hotel and spa
- A marina
- Luxury freehold villas with attendant rights of residence in Mauritius
- An international championship golf course.
Ample provision has been made to accommodate the specific vision and wishes of prospective partner-developers.
