Ownership and Project
The 158-hectare La Prairie site is part of the 465-hectare family-owned Baie du Cap Estate on the south-west coast of Mauritius.
The natural lie of the site is that of an amphitheatre, with the mountain in an arc sloping gently down towards the coral-floored coastal plain and the sea.
The overall vision is to celebrate the estate as a privileged place to live, along with Mauritius’s unique architectural heritage as providing the perfect way to live it.
The plan to date includes:
- A marina in the fiord of Macondé to the property’s south, with ready access to the open sea and the rich big-game fishing grounds of Black River;
- 150 hillside luxury villas overlooking the coastal plain and the sea;
- 20 islet luxury villas, each on its own islet in a vast sea-fed lagoon in the coral-floored coastal plain;
- 100 luxury apartments, set beside the lagoon or on islets in it.
- Ample provision has been made to accommodate the specific vision and wishes of prospective partner-developers.
